Cookie Policy

What are cookies and browser storage?

Cookies are small text files that websites save on your browser or device when you visit them. They help the site remember information about your visit, such as your preferences.

Browsers also offer localStorage and sessionStorage, which store information on your device without sending it back to the server on every request. This site uses both, and this policy covers them exactly as it covers cookies.

What coloquio.space stores

1. Strictly necessary

These are essential for the site to work and cannot be disabled.

NameTypePurposeDuration
coloquio-cookie-consentlocalStorageSaves your cookie preferences so the banner is not shown again365 days
NEXT_LOCALECookieRemembers whether you chose English or Spanish, so the site does not switch back on your next visit365 days
coloquio:app-open:*sessionStorageRecords that we already tried to hand this link off to the Coloquio app, so you are not bounced twiceUntil the tab is closed

2. Analytics

These are only activated if you accept analytics in our consent banner.

ProviderPurposeStorage used
Vercel AnalyticsAggregate, anonymous page-view measurement — which pages are visited, from what kind of deviceNone (cookieless)
Vercel Speed InsightsWeb performance measurement (Core Web Vitals, load times)None (cookieless)

Note: both providers are cookieless and do not build a cross-site profile of you. They are still placed behind consent, and nothing is loaded until you accept.

3. Advertising

This website sets no advertising or behavioural tracking storage of any kind, and embeds no third-party maps, video players or social widgets. Advertising exists only inside the Coloquio mobile app, and it is described in our Privacy Policy rather than here.

How to manage your preferences

From our banner

When visiting coloquio.space for the first time, you will see a banner where you can choose:

  • Accept all — Activates necessary storage and analytics.
  • Necessary only — Activates only what the site needs to work.
  • Customize — Turn analytics on or off individually, then save.

You can change your preferences at any time by clearing this site's storage in your browser, which makes the banner reappear.

From your browser

You can also control cookies and site storage directly from your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox:Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies

Note that blocking all cookies and site storage may affect the functionality of the site.

Cookies in the mobile application

The Coloquio mobile application (iOS / Android) does not use cookies. It uses session identifiers stored securely on the device using the native mechanisms of each platform (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android).

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when we change what the site stores. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the most recent version.
